Breathing enriched air Nitrox gives a larger margin of safety than diving with compressed air. Since there is less nitrogen than "regular" air, the bottom time may be longer with less risk of decompression sickness. We supply Ean-Nitrox to A.N.D.I. & I.A.N.T.D. standards. We have many trips on which you can be introduced to the benefits of safer diving with EAN-Nitrox. The Sand Dollar was the first, and is the only Southern California Dive Boat approved by A.N.D.I. , I.A.N.T.D. and T.D.I., and with certified gas blenders on staff, and using Hydrocarbon free air (no oil) for filling Nitrox Cylinders. We do it the right way, because it's the only way ! Rebreather fills available, too!

The use of Ean-nitrox requires special training and certification in its use. The Sand Dollar offers Ean-Nitrox tanks for those divers who have discovered the benefits of Safeair diving. If you are not yet certified in Ean-Nitrox use, we will gladly refer you to a facility that can provide the complete training. Courses are available through many of our charters, and on most trips. Tanks with fills of 32% EAN are available, and refills are available on board at a reasonable cost. Please let us know in advance if you will be diving with EAN-Nitrox. We know all the benefits of EAN-Nitrox, and support its use. Of course, our EAN-Nitrox is hydrocarbon free!

The Sand Dollar is the ONLY Southern California Dive Boat that can fill EAN-NITROX, and is a certified Gas Blender, with the ability to fill EAN-Nitrox cylinders on board. Don't risk your safety by getting cylinders, and then not having the ability to perform an analysis of the contents. Common sense dictates that if you can't determine the O2 content of the cylinder, then you do NOT want to dive with it ! The USER must see the analysis !
