One concept of Nitrox usage, called EANx involves Oxygen
cleaned
equipment, dedicated to use with EANx-Nitrox. A concentration
of
Oxygen higher than 21% is mixed with hydrocarbon free
air to get
the mixture of Enriched Air Nitrox that is desired.
For those divers
using dedicated equipment, and seeking hydrocarbon
free air, the
Sand Dollar has the equipment and breathing
gas for your needs.
Another form of Nitrox production called DNAx or DANx
involves
the removal of Nitrogen from air to achieve a breathing
gas that is
typically 32% Oxygen. This form of production normally
does not
utilize oxygen cleaned equipment and might not be
acceptable to a
diver using EANx dedicated equipment or for hydrocarbon
free air.
The Sand Dollar can supply breathing gas for
either type of diver.
Since the Sand Dollar uses hydrocarbon free
air, the breathing gas
supplied for Nitrox will not contaminate the equipment
used by the
diver who has invested in oxygen cleaned and dedicated
equipment.
Likewise, the Sand Dollar can supply breathing
gas for divers using
DNAx equipment (not Oxygen cleaned), since the breathing
gas the
Sand Dollar supplies is 32% Oxygen content,
and concentrations of
Oxygen above 40% are not introduced into a divers
scuba cylinder.
Keep in mind, ALL cylinder manufacturers recommend
cleaning!!
In Southern California, only the Sand Dollar
can supply breathing
gas that meets the stringent requirements of those
divers that have
Oxygen cleaned equipment, and use EANx/Nitrox for
safer diving.
The Sand Dollar supplies hydrocarbon free breathing
gas for use by
divers that use EANx/Nitrox. At the same time, the
Sand
Dollar can
supply breathing gas for divers using DNAx equipment,
because no
concentrations of Oxygen exceeding 40% are used for
filling Nitrox.
Additionally, since the Sand Dollar has a completely
isolated Nitrox
system, the dangers of Nitrox being introduced into
an air cylinder
used by a diver is eliminated. The Sand Dollar
does
it the right way!
All "Nitrox" is not the same
! Be sure that you know
the difference. If you have
Oxygen clean equipment
and use EANx, the Sand Dollar
is your dive boat !
If you fill at a DNax location,
you will need to have
your cylinder re-cleaned! We
do it the RIGHT way!
