California Channel Islands - Scuba Diving Sites
The Variety of Aquatic Life

Catalina Island

Catalina Island is a favorite destination for many divers. Just over two hours from the Los Angeles Harbor, it is a good stopping point on the last day of a trip. With great kelp beds, a variety of life, pinnacles and walls, it offers something for all divers. With visibility of 50 to 100 feet, photography and sightseeing are popular activities.

Santa Barbara Island

Santa Barbara Island is a very popular island to visit due to it's large Sea Lion population. Here the diver is treated to diving with these friendly marine mammals and can often be surrounded by the friendly creatures. Kelp beds and interesting topography, with caverns and walls and usually good visibility, make the dive experience of Santa Barbara Island unique. Santa Barbara Island becomes a favorite that divers return to time and time again.

San Clemente Island

San Clemente Island is a favorite of many divers due to its size and variety of dive sites. Featuring purple coral, drop offs, excellent wall diving, pinnacles, and of course kelp beds, San Clemente often has water visibility over 100 feet. It has over 50 miles of coast line and hundreds of dive sites. It can be visited time after time.

The Sand Dollar visits these islands, (and more)
regularly, with the most scheduled trips. Experienced or new
